Default Exported Timeline Settings filename to user’s screenname.
Add timelineDisplayCount
hidden preference.
Workaround for Lion bug involving the “Look Up in Dictionary” feature.
Hibari can now import and export Timeline Settings (Keyword Block, Mute and Saved Searches).
ppc
architecture out of Sparkle and ShortcutRecorder frameworks.Preference for displaying full names instead of usernames.
JSTalk
support. You can now script Hibari to access the currently selected tweet (-selectedTweet
) and post a tweet (-tweet:
).
For example, here’s how to access the currently selected tweet:
[[JSTalk application:'Hibari'] selectedTweet];
And here’s the result:
{
name = "Hacker News 20";
screenName = newsyc20;
tweetHTML = "Placebo buttons: 'door-close'
buttons, others, don't do anything <a
href=\"http://bit.ly/bZWMxw\">http://b
it.ly/bZWMxw</a> (<a href=\"http://bit
.ly/a1NMmz\">http://bit.ly/a1NMmz</a>)
<a class=\"hashtag\" href='https://twi
tter.com/#search?q=#active'>#active</a
>";
tweetID = 1745811822084096;
tweetText = "Placebo buttons: 'door-close'
buttons, others, don't do anything htt
p://bit.ly/bZWMxw (http://bit.ly/a1NMm
z) #active";
}
It’s just as easy to post a tweet:
[[JSTalk application:'Hibari'] tweet:'hello world'];
Immunized against Twitpocalypse 3: Snowflake From Hell .
CSS improvements. When the main window is too narrow, timestamps will now overlap the username instead of wrapping erratically.
Improved link detection. Should have fewer false positives and catch a few more cases.
Debugging log window can now be closed if accidentally opened.
Customize Hibari’s timeline display with a user stylesheet stored in ~/Application Support/Hibari/custom.css
. See Hibari.app/Contents/Resources/styles.css
for the selector structure.
You can now enable WebKit’s Web Inspector contextual menu item to understand Hibari’s element structure. Issue the following Terminal command and restart Hibari to enable it:
defaults write com.violasong.Hibari EnableWebInspector -bool YES
Update (11/3): You also need to run this Terminal command:
defaults write com.violasong.Hibari WebKitDeveloperExtras -bool YES

Rudimentary Instapaper
support. The good news is control-clicking on tweet links will offer an “Instapaper” menu item if you’ve entered your Instapaper username and password. The bad news is there’s currently no UI for entering your Instapaper credentials — you need to use the following defaults
command:
defaults write com.violasong.Hibari instapaperUsername forrestgump
defaults write com.violasong.Hibari instapaperPassword fruitcompany
If you don’t have password, put in a blank one like this:
defaults write com.violasong.Hibari instapaperPassword ''
Unsent tweet text is persisted across application restarts (@uliwitness )
You are automatically opted-in into the beta appcast upon launching any beta version for the first time.
Bit.ly URL shortening! You can access it via the Edit menu or with Command-Option-S.
Added an Updates pane to Preferences, where you can adjust your auto-update settings and opt in to getting beta releases from now on.
